Having the built-in photo voltaic panel to top off the battery cost is a good function when away from different energy sources. Even when bugs aren't bad it works effectively as a battery-powered source of illumination. It would be really great to have this bug zapper and studying light after a hurricane! Like a 60's "black mild" it makes some things glow at midnight which is form of enjoyable! The instructions are good and the switches to activate the reading light and set the lighting stage and for the zapper are simple to make use of. It has an LED that signifies when it is charging and totally-charged. We have not left it out in the rain to test the water-resistance. It makes a loud pop when a bug meets its end. The excessive-voltage wires are very effectively protected however Judy did get a jolt while she was carrying it trying to find mosquitos with the zapper on.
